LIEUTENANT COLONEL (U) HAJI ASBI BIN HAJI AWANG ANUAR



Lieutenant Colonel (U) Haji Asbi bin Haji Awang Anuar enlisted in the RBAF in June 2002 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 2004 after completing Officer Cadet Training with the Royal Australian Air Force at Laverton Base, Australia. He is presently serving as Commanding Officer No. 6 Wing, Support Group, where he is responsible for overseeing comprehensive support services including finance, transport, workshop, security and medical units, as well as infrastructure maintenance and facility operations across satellite locations of the Airbase installations to ensure airbase readiness, security and operational effectiveness.

In the early stages of his commissioned service, Lt Col (U) Hj Asbi served as Troop Commander in the Base Defence Squadron from 2004 to 2010. In 2009, he completed Platoon Commander training with the RBAF Training Institute, followed by the Junior Regiment Officers' Course in 2010. He was subsequently appointed Squadron Training Officer in 2011 and was posted as Penolong Pegawai Turus Administration and Personnel RBAirF HQ in 2012. He later returned to Base Defence Squadron, serving as Second-in-Command for two years before assuming the appointment of Officer in Command from 2016 to 2018. From 2018 to 2019, he served with the newly established No. 6 wing as Officer in Command for the Regimental Police Flight. In 2020, he completed the Command and Staff Course, and in 2021 he was appointed as Timbalan Pegawai Turus Administration Office, Directorate of Personnel. He was subsequently promoted to Pegawai Turus, Occupational Health and Safety Inspectorate Office, where he served from 2023 until 24 April 2026.

Lt Col (U) Hj Asbi is married to Pengiran Doctor Rafidah Pengiran Haji Petra and is blessed with four daughters. Residing in Kampong Kapok, Muara. He values a disciplined and grounded family life and in his spare time enjoys watering plants and feeding stray cats after Subuh prayers and occasionally sunset runs at Tanjung Batu with his wife.  ​
